EXIBITION ON THE HORSE ISLAND JUIST

For the first time, three famous german equine artists are united in a special exhibition: The National park museeum on the horse island Juist presents the work of Christiane Slawik (photography), Christiane Bötzel (paintings) and Brigitte Eberl (sculpures) from 5.7.2008 until June 2009. The artists know each other for years, love the idea and want to go on with it!

FLYING MANES WITH BLOSSOMS AND MOUNTAINS

Around the photo workshop in Pöllndorf and for the breeders Association of the South-Tyrol Haflingers, Christiane has taken some great spring pictures. An Iceland stallion with a perfect Piaffe and playing Haflinger stallions are not the only highlights!

ALGERIA

If you are looking for pure bred barb-horses, there is only one place in the world to go: Algeria. Despite all the objections, we visited the second-largest country of Africa. Surprised by the beauty of the landscape, the quality of the horses and the hospitality of the algerian people, we can only say: It was worth all the effort. If you want a very special horse for a very reasonable price, you´ll find it at the Haras Chaouchaoua in Tiaret!

MARRIAGE

Christiane Slawik and Thomas Fantl got married on the 29.2.2008. We kept our names and hope, that life just stayes as it is. Thank you for all the good wishes from all over the world!

THE HONG KONG ADVENTURE

Hong Kong: Live it. Love it! Not so easy, considering 39 degrees Celsius and over 90% humidity! It looks difficult for horses and riders at the Olympics 2008, but high-tech and top-management will guarantee perfectly arranged games.
We travelled for the wonderfull french horse magazin "Cheval magazine", met some very dedicated and competent organizers and between some breathtaking, closely packed skyscrapers surpisingly nice and air-conditioned three floor stables for more than 1500 horses!

USA BOOK REVIEW

From the USA: A review from Christianes latest book "Horse: A Portrait" by Laurel Johnson for Midwest Book Review

Incredible. Stunning. Breathtaking. Such superlatives came to mind at my first view of the book’s cover; the narrative and photos inside this amazing book left me speechless. Ms. Slawik is an award winning photo-journalist. On viewing her photos, even an untrained eye like mine can see her awards are well-deserved. She captures light and shadows, action and stillness, bringing such richness to her subjects that they seem to jump off the page. Her narratives are beautifully written, intimately sharing majestic breeds and exotic locations with readers, capturing the magnificence and spirit of horses through words and pictures.
